With the recent passage of HB96 / Idaho Code 67-2303A signed by Governor Little on April 3, 2025, under an emergency took effect immediately.

I decided to visit Boise City Hall and inform them of this. In the days since Mayor McLean has doubled down in defiance of following the new law which does not have any ramifications for violations. This video went a bit viral - https://x.com/casey_whalen/status/1909678344498823436.

Under the new law the types of flags that may be displayed are, United States flag, military, city and Indian Tribe flags are allotted.

Many citizens are outraged the mayor would ignore HB96 and since there is talk of a possible legal remedy by Ryan Spoon. Boise City Hall even took the trans flag down and seemed to replace it with a new one, days after this story came out.
